Post-DCON Tru:Tek Drop for M.A.Y.O.R. + Others!

Kabuki Kasa Obake, M.A.Y.O.R, and Karakappa
If I don't catch you guys tomorrow, Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you get feast on a lot of great food and drink with your family and friends, and try not to be swept up too much in the Black Friday con afterward.  It's always such a bizarre phenomenon:  enjoying some peace and quiet with your family and food, enjoying some football on TV or whatever, being thankful for what you do have, and then quickly transitioning to stomping other families into the ground for discounted flat screens.

What a wretched event Black Friday is.  If someone told me it's going away, dying, or just no longer a thing, I'd be the grumpy cat pictures with a proud 'Good, I'm glad!'.  So before I ruin my festive mood any more, may I suggest shopping online whenever possible?  And what better shopping can you do online than some really nice, high-quality, keshi mini-figures like the ones dropping today?

With Designer Con 2016 over, we are now seeing some of the survivors hitting online store fronts, and one of those refreshing today is slew of keshi kitbashes from Tru:Tek and crew.  I had covered a couple of them in the past, but I'm thankful I have a second chance to cover the ones I missed the first time.

Looking familiar to readers, surviving units of M.A.Y.O.R. (DRWG and Tru;Tek) and Kabuki Kasa Obake (Atonement and Tru:Tek) will be hitting the Softoy Hobby Store today.  With them, the pair of Karakappa mini-figures (SQDBLSTR and Tru:Tek) will be dropping also, and both sets will be ten clams each, which is an awesome deal anyone who wasn't able to go to Designer Con can be thankful for!

Please do yourself the favor and check these guys out!

Bandai Reveals Kinnikuman Kinkeshi Vol. 2 For Preorder!

Seriously, people, the hits just keep coming!  And I'm glad, because what better way to end a year of some keshi hotness but with some... "'Yuge. Very 'yuge news. Trust me, it's gonna' be 'yuge," news.  Sorry, I think in all this excitement my brain was cut off of oxygen there for a second.  Regardless of health and mental conditions, the keshi world was shaken once more by Bandai fireworks.

Exactly one month ago, frantic MUSCLE fans will remember the bombshell of Kinkeshi coming back with revisited and re-sculpted classic mini-figures.  It was called Vol. 1, with the promise of more, and I am here, likely last in line, to tell you Vol. 2 has been revealed in all it's glory and ready for preorder!

Visit my previous write-up for all the gushing about this brand and my excitement for this series, but you can also tell, with just one look above, these guys are legit.  Sculpted by the son of the man who sculpted the original classics, they carry the legacy created decades ago.

Words just really don't express how awesome this event all is.  For something to have arguably fathered and started everything we associate with keshi mini--figures and a keshi community for them so many years ago, to come back with new breath and vigor, pass the torch to new brilliant minds, with the fortune to have the blessings of the past.  It may be silly, but I can recognize not every fandom will experience this and I can be thankful for being this lucky.

In many past posts, I've suggested any production initiatives were great efforts to increase the keshi community.  Any new line or relaunch or redesign has the chance of catching a new generation and a new collection of fans to appreciate this toy format.  Does anyone else feel Bandai and Kinkeshi could be a tidal wave of that?  What will come of all this?  Lend me your thoughts and comments below!

And of course, for more information and to preorder this set, visit the link below!

Robo Toy Fest Brings the Gold to Designer Con 2016!

Set your seats back to their normal upright position, because we're turning back to Designer Con!

Revealed today, the fine folks over at Robo Toy Fest will be bringing a brand new colorway of their RTF Robo mini-figure, exclusively for the Pasadena Convention Center.   This character, designed and modeled after their Robo Toy Fest character has seen his fair share of conventions, but always appears with a new colorful mood.  This time it's adorned in some glorious gold plating.

To be completely honest and transparent, this is the concept stuff I can really get behind.  This mini-figure only comes out of hiding for conventions, always with a new variant, and never asks for the moon, despite it being an exclusive get.  That sort of fun chase is what I can really get behind, and it saddens me to remember I don't actually own a RTF Robo yet.  I ought to fix that, like, right now, and if you're in the same boat as me, maybe you should fix it too.

AlienRobotMonster Reveals a Stranger Drop Post DCON!

Maybe it's a bit out of line to already be moving on past Designer Con, especially when it hasn't even happened yet, but when one of the hottest keshi creators this year reveals their progress with mini-figures based on one of the hottest television series this year, it sorta' steals the spotlight.

AlienRobotMonster has been hitting on all cylinders lately.  Every colorway of MonsterEx has been a complete smash and instant sell-out, but that goes for every product produced by them.  Every mini-figure, from their MUSCLE CARS to this and that, right down to prototypes and test casts sells.  Everything they touch has turned to gold and it may not change any time soon...

Especially when their recent project involves references of Netflix's extremely popular series Stranger Things, that aired last summer to raving fans and critics alike.  I don't watch much TV.  I haven't seen a single episode of the Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, or anything else immensely popular, except for Stranger Things.  I think it was the classic horror elements with an 80's atmosphere that really lured and hooked me in, and I'm willing to bet the very same happened to a lot of others too.

The question I present is, can AlienRobotMonster do the same?  From Instagram, they have stated this project is still very much a work in progress, but with more news slated after Designer Con, maybe it's a lot closer than they are leading on.  I suppose if there is anything I would add, it would be to expect a longer time table than shorter.  Things like this take a lot of time, and more often than not, find bumps in the road.  Plus, you can't rush a quality product.  If these mini-figures need X number of months to fine tune everything, I say I will happily be ready to visit the upside down sometime next year.

Of course, for more information, please do your part on the social medias and follow your favorite artists and production teams.  Also, show some love and support by clicking the link below.

DRWG, AshMadeThis, and Onell Design Readying For DCON!

Bit Figs by Onell Design
Someone most likely said something to the effect of 'don't jump to conclusions' in some important time in history.  It wasn't me.  I was just a couple ago whining and complaining how there is little keshi news heading towards Designer Con, and now I am here with some cool updates on releases and exclusives.

The first appears to be a new colorway for everyone's pixelated vending machine mini-figures, Bit Figs.  I haven't actually made this mention before, but it was a pleasant surprise to see the ninja set of Bit Figs arrive at my local grocery store's vending machine recently.  It's safe to say, every visit or so, I've lost a couple bucks, increasing my bit army.  Now it appears a translucent green option is in the works coming from Onell Design, heading for Designer Con.  This is very cool, as I have yet to see a translucent Bit Fig IRL, and I'm curious to how sunlight reacts to it, outside this spoiler picture above.

M.A.Y.O.R. by DRWG/Tru:Tek
Kabuki Kasa Obake by AshMadeThis/Tru:Tek
Our second batch of news is almost a double-header, with two pieces coming the way of production pro and giant, Tru:Tek.

The first, in green, is a collaboration with DRWG called M.A.Y.O.R., named after everyone's favorite Final Fight character, Haggar.

In the muscle-tone is the Kabuki Kasa Obake collaboration with AshMadeThis I covered briefly before, but these are both new colorways coming exclusive to the convention.

This is all pretty exciting stuff, and I hope in the coming days, just as Designer Con is drawing ever closer, we get a little bit more just to expand the overall keshi consciousness across the whole convention!

As always, please show some love and support by visiting the links below.

Mystical Warriors of the Ring Gear Up For Designer Con!

Designer Con is only just over a week away, and with that, fans and collectors will have a chance to check out all the great art and designer toys of various platforms.  I'll be honest, there hasn't been much of a keshi presence or at least a stir of one for Designer Con so far.  There have been plenty of news for sofubi, action figures, and the like, but not as much as I expected from slug mini-figures, but luckily Mystical Warriors of the Ring have been a welcomed exception to that.

It's been no mystery that the MWOTR camp has been working diligently towards this release for Designer Con, so it's really no surprise that they could very well be leaving the convention with the proverbial championship belt.

Earlier this fall, they has a preview release for Cero, and within moments he was completely sold out.  Now with higher quantities, does Cero have it in him to be a knock-out for a second round?  Looking at the four preview pictures released on social media, I think there is a good shot.  Metallics and GITD's are always a fan-favorite, so it may just be a matter of getting enough eye balls on the rhino to get him in the hands of new and old fans, alike.

Check back for more information on Designer Con and more exclusives, but it never hurts to visit the source, so please click on the links below.

Adam Quesnell Reveals Despair Exclusive for DCON!

Welcome back everyone to the Keshi Drop!  For America it's election night, and therefore your Crazy Uncle SpiderEarth has dipped into his special reserve of hiccup juice, so you'll have to excuse the occasional slur.  But as you know from previous posts, I am neither a fan of politics nor will I use this space to blab about whatever side of whatever matter.  I'm here just to share about matters of all things keshi, and luckily, I have an update about a great-looking piece tonight.

Comedian Adam Quesnell with the assistance of sculpture George Gaspar and produced by Tru:Tek, had created the character Despair sometime ago, and has released a good amount of variants and colorways throughout convention seasons.

Now with Designer Con approaching later this month, the Down-Low edition of Despair was revealed over social media, exclusive for the convention.  Marbleized in purple and green, this microphoned demon is looking super nice and not just under a black light.  However, you have be there at Designer Con, November 19th and 20th, and find Adam Quesnell for this uber rare variant.

However, if there are any survivors, you may see them online on his shop later this month.  If you can't make it to the convention, or miss out before it sells out, you'll be happy to know there are still colorways in his web-store available right now to add to your collection.  Follow the links below for more information.
