Call to A.R.M.S! Keshi Attack on Designer Toy Awards '17!

Ladies, gentlemen, dorks, geeks, nerds and shut-ins, today we have an important mission!  Today, I come to you not as your rambling toy hobo, shouting at the clouds, but as your rambling toy hobo general, calling for your swords and shields to battle by my side.  Some of us will die.  In fact, since the 80's our keshi armies have not always seen much victory, so none of us might make it back, but don't let that cloud your mind from victory.  What we lack in size and articulation, we more than make up for in simple elegance, design, and durability!  We are proud keshi soldiers and we will conquer all!

We have already deployed a secret platoon of elite keshi marines, but as we all know, we need a stronger force with a higher body count.  We need a mass of foot soldiers to maintain our position and to topple the opposition, completely and utterly.  That is where you all come into play.

Your target?  The 7th Annual Designer Toy Awards!  Your enemy?  Every infernal blind box abomination!  Every fragile resin reject, with a gallon of paint smothering it's insides!  Every hollow hunk of sofubi!  Every plush will hang on spikes, to rot and be picked a part by birds!  Everything falls to our monochromatic, inarticulate might!  It is the time for the Keshi Army to reign supreme over the toy landscape and the time to do that is now!

Soldiers, here are your instructions!  Visit the link below and sign up to the Designer Toy Awards.  That's the only way you can vote for the both A.R.M.'s Stranger Minis and Super 7's Street Fighter M.U.S.C.L.E., in their respective Licensed and Non-licensed categories.  It would be so amazing to see them both emerge as winners.  Both companies have been blowing the doors off the keshi scene the last couple years and these two projects have really defined their efforts.  Seeing keshi go 2 for 2 would be a lightning strike of a kill-shot to the toy community.  Sure, some hunk of sofubi garbage won this category and some bunny-eared slop won a different one, but all challengers pitted against keshi fell to the might of our swords.  We are the kings atop of the mountain!  We get to eat the drumstick!  Or the breast meat!  Or whatever part of the turkey we want!  Just be thankful if we share our turkey at all!

Alright, Keshi Army, we charge on my count!  On three!  One!  Two!  Crap!

Crap, both categories Stranger Minis and Street Fighter M.U.S.C.L.E. are in are panel only, and not open to the public.  That's a huge bummer, and really takes the frenzied mob thing out of it all.  Leaves keshi completely in the hands of these shady Illuminati panel members, probably not of this world.  Hopefully, they understand how many there are of us and how frenzied this mob can get, if we ever get to frenzy the mob in any regard.  Threats aside, hopefully they understand how incredible both of these projects are, and how superior keshi is in general.  We're watching you, reptilian panel members.  Don't screw this one up!

Well, that was a lot of hot air for nothing.  Welcome to the Keshi Drop, everyone, but do visit the link below and vote for all the public categories.  I think it's still important and fun, even if we can't really whip a mob up together.  Maybe next year...  maybe next year...

AlienRobotMonster Reveals a Stranger Drop Post DCON!

Maybe it's a bit out of line to already be moving on past Designer Con, especially when it hasn't even happened yet, but when one of the hottest keshi creators this year reveals their progress with mini-figures based on one of the hottest television series this year, it sorta' steals the spotlight.

AlienRobotMonster has been hitting on all cylinders lately.  Every colorway of MonsterEx has been a complete smash and instant sell-out, but that goes for every product produced by them.  Every mini-figure, from their MUSCLE CARS to this and that, right down to prototypes and test casts sells.  Everything they touch has turned to gold and it may not change any time soon...

Especially when their recent project involves references of Netflix's extremely popular series Stranger Things, that aired last summer to raving fans and critics alike.  I don't watch much TV.  I haven't seen a single episode of the Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, or anything else immensely popular, except for Stranger Things.  I think it was the classic horror elements with an 80's atmosphere that really lured and hooked me in, and I'm willing to bet the very same happened to a lot of others too.

The question I present is, can AlienRobotMonster do the same?  From Instagram, they have stated this project is still very much a work in progress, but with more news slated after Designer Con, maybe it's a lot closer than they are leading on.  I suppose if there is anything I would add, it would be to expect a longer time table than shorter.  Things like this take a lot of time, and more often than not, find bumps in the road.  Plus, you can't rush a quality product.  If these mini-figures need X number of months to fine tune everything, I say I will happily be ready to visit the upside down sometime next year.

Of course, for more information, please do your part on the social medias and follow your favorite artists and production teams.  Also, show some love and support by clicking the link below.

AlienRobotMonster Blood Red Monsterex Drop News!

Monsterex by AlienRobotMonster
Happy Halloween, everyone!  Welcome back to The Keshi Drop!  I hope everyone has had a fun and safe evening, and are now kicking back with a nice scary movie and a bowl of candy.  Tonight I have more release news.  It's always fun and exciting for me, and I hope it's the same for you.

Perfectly themed for a spooky night like this, AlienRobotMonster announced their red colorway for the super-popular and sought-after Monsterex mini-figure.  For classic monster fans and/or Monster In My Pocket collectors, this monster mash-up character is right in your wheel house, and for me personally, this is one of the few that always seems to evade my best efforts.  Standing almost two and a half inches tall, this guy is an actual keshi monster, and you know you need that one overlord to look over your collection, and who better than a character with two heads.

Follow me this Friday, November 4th, to the AlienRobotMonster web-store for when this keshi beast drops.  Sadly, I have not found the exact time, but be persistent and check in every so often.  You know how it goes!

11/03 Update!
I found the approximate time for the drop will be 9:00am PST!  Good luck!

ARM Monsterex + RTF Robo Designer Con 2015 Exclusives!

Hey everyone!  Designer Con is almost upon us!  Tomorrow morning, Saturday the 21st, to be exact, people will be piling into the Pasadena Convention Center to be checking out all the cool designer toys, artist offerings, fun events, and interesting panels.

Two more of keshi exclusives will be new colorways of previous minifigures you may or may not have seen before.

The first one is a new Ectoplasm Blue variant of AlienRobotMonster's super successful and beloved Monsterex.  If you want to start talking about a 'Best of' list for 2015, I would not be surprised to see this monster mash-up in a lot of them across collectors.

The second one is a metallic green/ glow in the dark gradient colorway of the RTF Robo from RoboToyFest called Atomic Green.  Sculpted by George Gaspar and usually held only at the Robo Toy Fest conventions, this guy looks like he couldn't resist the temptation any longer and will be finding himself with collector's as early as tomorrow.

Very cool stuff!  Designer Con looks to be a ton of fun and I swear I'll visit it some year.  For now, this should wrap up my previews of the convention, and I'll be back to random ramblings and oddball news very soon.  Keep an eye out for a new type of article I've been spit-balling for a little bit now.  I think it'll be interesting, I think.

AlienRobotMonster's Monsterex Preorder Details!

Let's talk about one of the most anticipated releases this year!  People cannot get enough of this guy!

People are a buzzing and people want to know when they can finally get their hands on one of these guys, and today we finally have some news on that.

As we knew from before, three colorways will be dropping, and it looks like that mysterious third color is a purple.  I have to say, these three together look some attractive, and I can see why so many collectors are foaming at the mouth for these.  Like I said before, these guys are slamming that Monster In My Pocket button and crushing it into dust.  You can tell that, although MUSCLE was enjoyed a lot here in the States, MIMP filled a lot of toy boxes as well, including mine.

But onto release news!  Preorders will be open Wednesday, October 21 at 9am PDT/MST and it'll be running $20 plus shipping and handling.  Although I feel a lot of people will feel it to be a bit too pricey, keep in mind this guy is actually a tad larger than convention.  I would say he stretches near the three inch mark, from pictures I've seen towering over other miniatures.  To preorder and to check out for more info, follow the link below.

Alienrobotmonster Monsterex Drop!

I suppose one way to make the American  keshi community collectively explode virtually overnight is to mash up classic movie monsters into some sort of super Monster In My Pocket throwback minifigure, and the guys at Alienrobotmonster did just that with this creation.

Now, mash-up might not be the right term to use either, as I feel this guy might be a completely original sculpt from the artist, and not a combining of minfigures like the term might imply.  Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Man, is this monster impressive!  Named Monsterex, this beast is an obvious mix of Frankenstein's Monster and The Wolfman, and if he doesn't scratch that MIMP itch, I'm not sure what will.

Monsterex is planning on hitting the Alienrobotmonster web-store very soon in three different colorways - flesh, green, and one other I have not been able to find out.  But, if you need someone to tell you, if this guy interests you, you need to be quite the aggressive shopper, because like I said, with almost no notice, this guy is snowballing out of control will attention and excitement.  People are really loving this piece and I can see why.  If you desire one, I would certainly follow the link below for more information and be one of the first in line to snag this guy before he's gone.
