Boo! Ironhaus Pro Releases Trick or Treat Gorewads!

Welcome, everyone, to the first official update under the Unarticulated & Rubbery name.  I'm really excited to get back into this, and hopefully more often than I have been this last year and so.

There's always something about the fall time of year that always brings keshi minifigures back to the front of my mind, and it's hard not to wonder if that mystery something is candy and strange, spooky, party favors.  When you're talking about independent artists with a mutant, horror-theme, to their product, Ironhaus has to be at the top of that list, so it's with no surprise they are quick to release some new Gorewad Monsters just in time to get your spookiness on.

Appropriately named Trick or Treat Gorewads, this new set has a mixture of new, old, and weaponized sugar, just to cover all your Halloween necessities.  Including three brand new Gorewad characters, the set also includes a few previously retired miniatures from their Larvapocalypse line and your mandatory ration of candy, rounding off treat portion of the sets namesake.

So where's the trick?  Aside from the criminally low production quantities, I'm not really sure there is one.  Within my collection of keshi minifigures lines a good bunch of Gorewads, so I've always been satisfied and impressed across the board on detail, design, and materials used.  If you're a fan of Grossery Gang and things like that, but have a couple gripes about this or that, I find Gorewads makes up where they miss, aside from the scarcity.  This puts interested collectors counting down to the exact moment releases like these drop, with trigger-happy mouse buttons, but none of that is all that out of the ordinary anymore.

However, as of the time I am writing this, they were release a couple days ago with a few sets still available, so the sad story of snoozing the exact moment of the drop and missing out on some figs eludes us this time, thankfully!  But how much longer?  I don't know, but as Halloween approaches just around corner, these guys will all be terrorizing the public long before the first skeleton knocks on your door for chocolate.  To avoid missing out, click on the link below!

IronHaus Productions' Gorewad Monsters Review!

Sometimes, even the lowest of the low get lucky.  Sometimes, even the most professional afternoon nappers and bedtime sleepers wander to the front of a long line.  Such is the case, at least this time, with your Crazy Uncle SpiderEarth.  I've covered IronHaus' drops before, maybe just to transcribe the flashes in time where something was being sold then immediately sells out moments later.  This time is really no different, but at least this time I was there to capitalize and capture some goods to review for old blog.

IronHaus Productions is a ground-level company with just a few independent artists collaborating to make the highest quality stuff they can, and for those who enjoy the artist-to-hand experience, IronHaus has to be on your radar.  There's no middle man, no demographic test groups, no board of directors to answer to, or quota to reach.  It's pure creativity and ingenuity, realized in a physical form by the artist themselves, sent directly to the people attracted to it, and have been an 80's kid with action figures, it's a breath of fresh air.

Within the last few years, I've bought a couple interesting action figures of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from Playmates.  I would argue these skew vastly towards the toy experience than the art experience, but it won't take you long to notice, somewhere along it's creation and production, it was compromised as such.  A true artist sketched it out.  A true artist sculpted it with his or her hands.  You can tell from all the minor details across the figure that never gets a paint application.  Somewhere before the figure is packaged and put on the shelf, the artists involved are removed from the equation.  It just becomes a toy and a product, and to some extent, that's perfectly fine.  I would argue, after decades of that, you'd grow to appreciate something like IronHaus' mini-figures a little more.

I recently received a litter of the recent Gorewad Monsters in the mail, and I was rather impressed with just how detailed and wild these things were. Their size was rather small, about the size of what you'd expect of Trash Pack mini-figures, but the amount of detail was insane.  What size are their fingers?!  What are they sculpting these mini-figures with?!  A single hardened hair?!  What's going on here?!  I can't sculpt a bowling ball without leaving an entire hand-print around the thing.  How are these guys this well-done and this small?  If the answer isn't just raw talent, it's a question too complicated for my spider brain.

I've rambled on for quite a bit already.  IronHaus' Gorewad Monsters are some really top-notch independent mini-figures.  They are crazy, wild, imaginative, and really well-sculpted.  You have no problem reading the character off each sculpt.  You know which ones are the slimy ones, the stinky ones, and the ones that just go around screaming, by just looking at them.  I would absolutely recommend these to anyone looking for a bit more of a personal touch to their toys, however the secret is already out.  Like other independent studios, their stock sells out almost immediately after the drop, so you'll have to be extra diligent and aggressive to get your hands on your own.  But when you do, it's worth it.

Ironhaus Universe of Violence Wave Two Drop!

Wow, you know I tend to cover a lot of releases, and typically they are a small thing, maybe a new variant or two.  Maybe it's a new set or even maybe just production updates, but wow, do we have something expansive and enormous today.

I suppose if you have the means to go all-out, maybe the best course of action is to do just that.  Ironhaus Productions, a collection of independent artists around the world, have come together to release their Universe of Violence:  Chaos Dimension Wave Two minifigures, but if I left it at that, that would only be the tip of the iceberg.

Wave Two of this series is coming in maybe a literal flood of colorful keshi greatness.  First, you'll see the final print release of Satyrant and Maneater from Wave One in new variants.  Secondly, you'll see these three new characters joining the ranks -  West Nile, Deadface II, and Hell Chicken.  But what's crazy is that these guys are being released in not your typical flesh or glow-in-the-dark colorways only, but they will be available in twelve variants from the get-go.  That's bonkers, but so bonkers it's brilliant, as each color is chosen to match classic keshi lines in the past and present.  You have your Monster In My Pocket neons, like yellow, purple, orange, red, and the rare pine green.  And of course you have your MUSCLE flesh and dark purple.  You even have a hot pink to match all your Artist Proof keshis from October Toys.  The point is, no matter what classic line you collected, there is a variant set that matches for you.

I bet if that was the end of the story, you would be satisfied, and rightfully so.  You're looking at five minifigures with more variants to know what to do with, but of course, I told you earlier this drop is insanely huge.  Coming with Wave Two, this practice shot Iron Viking will be tossed into orders for free, while supplies last.  I absolutely love this guy, and being lucky enough to get him for free is a very exciting option.

Also, because this drop never ends, Ironhaus will be selling miscasts and defections a couple bucks a piece, so the option to really fill up an box of keshi is right there for the taking.  Maybe most people are not into defects and miscasts, like me, but I love the idea of them and collecting sort of the rough draft work from an artist.  Very exciting and awesome stuff!  Check it out by following the link below, and as always, follow Keshi Drop by using the tool on the side there.

Day Of The Slug Wave Three Drop!

BigManToys is back with another wave of slimy minifigures from his Day Of The Slug series.

Collaborating this time with Jimmy Rommel of Ironhaus Production, Wave Three sees a set of four gruesomely gross slugs, all jammed-packed with Boglin-inspired attitude and character.

Ironhaus Productions Necrolossus Drop!

If I haven't been covering updates on it's development, this one surely has fallen through the cracks in my keyboard, because I certainly have been keeping close tabs.

Called the Necrolossus, this great skeletal beast was sculpted by Ironhaus and produced by Unbox Industries and is part of the Strange Monsters Collection along with other great independent artists.

Set up tentatively for a September 18th, at the LittleRubberGuys web-store, you really can't miss this guy, and for a mere $12, this huge thing is a steal.  Not only is this mammoth minifigure a wrecking ball of keshi goodness, Ironhaus is proving to be one of the underground artists to keep an eye on.  Stuff like the Nercolossus may just be his break-out and destroy everything nearby piece.  Be there on the 18th, because this green is very limited and supplies will not last!

Ironhaus Burning Hell Turtle!

Sculpted by Ironhaus Pro and produced by Eric Nilla, this amazing-looking kaiju creature has been released upon the unsuspecting shores across the world.

Launching in multiple variants out of the gate, from classic flesh tone, to a couple thermal change ones, and even dropping with a glow in the dark, Burning Hell Turtle is an independent rubber minifigure looking for a fight.

I love what's coming out of these guys.  Cutting absolutely zero corners, artists like Eric Nilla and Ironhaus are skipping over both resin casting and over-sea PVC production.  Somehow, maybe through voodoo, they are doing State-side rubber casting, which could turn out to be the new standard.

Ironhaus X Imperfecz Chupacabra and Ushi-Oni Keshi Reveal!

Independant artists Ironhaus and Imperfecz are back at it again, this time with a couple new characters to add to their Doom Gotter kaiju keshi mini-figure line.

Ironhaus X Eric Nilla Mini Murderball!

Many 80's toys are seeing influence in today's independent toy scene, and for good reason, the toys back in the day were awesome!

This blog alone follows the niche community still following tiny rubber gumball wrestlers from the 80's, essentially, but there are numerous other toy lines held close to collectors hearts.

One such toy line is the Madball franchise, that transformed all sorts of outside athletic stuffs into screaming insane characters.  The baseball with the giant tongue is probably the most popular, but I've always felt the football character was the one to have.

Mashing up keshi into their own design inspired by Madball, instead called Murderball, are independent artists Ironhaus and Eric Nilla, and from the early pictures coming out, there is good reason to be excited.

As much as I've always enjoyed the designs of Madballs, I've never had the itch to start collecting the toys again.  It may be weird, but but I'm a shelf person.  I like to unbox or unwrap the toys and have them on a shelf nearby.  I think I never considered getting back into Madballs, because I'm uncertain how they would rest where I'd keep them.  I don't know.  Maybe I'm worried they were roll around too much.

I hope the Murderball finds himself a good sturdy resting position, because I think I'd really enjoy this character, especially holding it in my hands.  I'll certainly be keeping an eye out, as the project continues.
