Super7 Reveals Street Fighter M.U.S.C.L.E. Drop!

What's going on, everyone, and welcome back to the old drop blog.  I don't want to get too hyped up, but there is a lot of stuff bubbling under the surface when it comes to keshi stuff.  I feel there will be a lot to ramble about very soon, which will be really great.  I've been really wanting to hit a good natural stride lately.  Like, you know, blasting out the words in a natural flow that doesn't take me too long to think about and edit, and I think updates like certainly get me in that mood.

Keshi champions of 2016 and coming out early this new year swinging, looking to level out all the competition.  Super7 is red hot, despite all rotten veg I could sling their way.  It started with He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, then Alien, and now it's the classic fighting video game franchise, Street Fighter.  Everything they are touching is turning into G.O.L.D, and that couldn't be more exciting and awesome for anyone else but us.

Adding on to their previous successes, Street Fighter M.U.S.C.L.E. will be seeing the light of day January 11th 2017 on the Super7 webstore, and I have to say, maybe more than the previous series they've produced, this one looks the best and has me the most excited.  Sure, I enjoyed watching both He-Man and Alien, but I don't think I could accurately guess hour many countless hours I've spent smashing controller buttons to Street Fighter, and seeing how well these mini-figures turned out is even better.  I love the proportions and how stubby arms and fists are, just like classic Kinnikuman, and there is no confusing who is who.  If you're a fan of the video game, I am willing to bet you're into it.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!  Just to quickly reiterate for those who missed it, I may be a little ghostly in the next few months, and scroll down for more details about that, but when something big happens, expect to hear my point of view on it.  \Do also make sure you read from other bloggers and forum members too, just so you're fully educated on every possible angle.  And of course, for more official information, please visit the link below.

Super7 Announces Alien MUSCLE Wave 1 Drop!

When you're talking about those who have really grabbed the reigns of mass pop culture, if I can even suggest it, and forced the popular eye to gaze upon the splendor of keshi, you're conversation has to include Super7.

Ever since their announcement of Masters of the Universe crossing into the realms of MUSCLE mini-figures, they have really taken on the mantle of standard bearer, waving the keshi flag, even if I haven't been the biggest supporter of their pop-up store events.  Regardless, when they release Masters of the Universe, but reveal plans on Alien, Street Fighter, Mega Man, Robotech, and Ghouls n' Ghosts, you can't help be on board.

Today, details on their second MUSCLE-inspired series has been released, and I am excited to share that Wave 1 of these bad dudes are dropping Friday, December 9th on the Super7 web-store.  Very interesting indeed, as I for one am looking to see how these react, not just with keshi collectors, but maybe Alien fans who never thought of collecting such figures before.  Good work, Super7!  Thumbs up!

Super7 Shows Off Street Fighter MUSCLE At SDCC!

Welcome back, everyone!  It's SDCC Weekend, so you know there had to be some reveals coming our way, and that's exactly what we have going on today.

Some months ago, Super7 revealed they were expanding their MUSCLE franchise to other properties other than just He-Man and The Masters of the Universe.  If I remember correctly, they showed card backs for Mega Man, Ghouls and Ghosts, Alien, Robotech, and Street Fighter.  Today we have our first glimpse into this expansion.

If you're a keshi enthusiast on social media, you've probably noticed this glass case was very popular today.  For reasons I am sure you can tell, at the Super7 booth, while selling their trash can and 30 pack sets of MOTU MUSCLE, they were showing off previews of their Street Fighter line.

These look really nice, I have to say, and not because they are pink slugs, of course, but look at the proportions.  They are much stalkers and thicker than the Masters of the Universe mini-figures, who find some criticism for being a bit too small and wiggly.  Classically posed and reminiscent of Kinnikuman in almost every way, if Super7 doesn't cast a wider net with these, I have no idea what will.

That's it for today, but I am sure SDCC is far from over.  So I'll be back if there is more to share!  Thanks for stopping by!

Super7 Reveals Retro MOTUSCLE 24 Packs!

I had a feeling, the last time I was chatting about Super7, that the rainbow trash bin set was not the only thing we will be seeing from them.  In the last few days, the keshi world has exploded with the news of their latest reveal for SDCC: their retro-inspired 24 packs of Masters of the Universe MUSCLE mini-figures in yellow or green.

Speaking of which, is the MOTUSCLE brand name dead?  It's not a big issue either way, I just have no idea and just noticing it now with these packages.

This set is drop dead amazing, pulled straight out of the 80's.  Even the art is almost exactly the same, except the He-Man characters replacing the Kinnikuman cast.  The price tag is not a bad one either, You get 24 minis and a very collectible box for $45, and at that rate, it's just under two whammies a piece which is not bad at all.

Of course though, they are debuting in Skeletor's Lair, and I'll save you from repeating myself about my thoughts on that.  If you're curious, just a few posts ago I rattled off about that subject, so check it out if that sounds like your thing.  But with the inclusion of the web-store address below, it looks like they will be mass produced and available there in time.

So far, this looks like an awesome set and another awesome showcase from Super7.  We'll see when the days come and pass, but it look like, despite the shade for the Skeletor's Lair stuff, the SDCC Champions just might retain.

Super7 Doesn't Listen to Stupid Internet Bloggers!

I don't know, guys...

You tell me.  Hit me up with a comment, an email, on Instagram, or wherever.  Am I really the only one in the world that thinks this was straight-up stupid last time?  I mocked it for being anti-consumer and a bloated hype circus, but honestly, I would not be surprised if I was the only one who felt this way.  Of course, I didn't experience the glory and heavenly embrace of Skeletor's Lair last go, but I think I understood the concept of it nevertheless.

Yeah, if you couldn't guess, I'm blabbing at the mouth again about Super7 and their second whack (verb and adjective) at their Masters of the Universe pop-up store coinciding with San Diego Comic Con.  And before I lose you and sound like an insane person, I want to state a couple things that I think will not be controversial at all.  I like Super7's products and I am all about the MOTUSCLE mini-figures.  When it comes to the keshi world, of course it's never necessary, but they get a big warm Keshi Drop hug, and the offerings they have teased this year are no different.  The multi-color trash can series looks very fun and I'm excited to hear about more, because I have gut feeling there are more to come.

The hill I die on is the way customers and fans of their work and products have to get these into their collections.  Not even exclusive to this, just an extra nonsense song and dance between the hand with money and the artist with the toys is just no good in my opinion.  Maybe there's something about SDCC that I don't understand and this is a way to circumvent some sort of issue with selling this product, but a part of me thinks this is just a marketing strategy to artificially inflate the value of these products, because to own these it was more than just the exchange of cash.  This bums me out.

Last time, I jokingly equated Skeletor's Lair to a death trap challenge from the Saw movie series, testing the pain and moral limitations of their customers for their mini-figures.  I don't think I really stand by that same comparison anymore, and really I'm not sure I readily have something to compare it too.  Maybe a shady business strategy from Wall Street or something, but that's it.  Where my brain goes with this is that by doing all this it's creating more imaginary value in MOTUSCLE and I feel that value is unnecessary and harmful to no one but collectors.

Follow me for a second.  It's looking like the new rainbow can series is going to be sold for $20 USD at the pop-up store, and it would hold only that price if it was sitting on a shelf for anyone walking through the doors.  Okay, a quick pause, it would hold that original value of that price if they proved they were a quality product as well.  I don't want to just leave that point there that anything holds their price in value regardless of price.  But back to the original point, they aren't just that price entirely.  You have to go to the convention and get the coin.  The coin is cool, but it only goes to people who can make it to the convention and got to their booth.  Then customers with coins have to leave the convention and travel to the pop-up stores during certain times of certain days.  What you'd pay a third party to do this for you from afar is not something I can accurately guess, but it's a fabricated value that didn't have to be there in the first place.  Imagine you were buying a Keshi Drop t-shirt from the hypothetical web-store I don't have.  The shirt cost is $20 and the shipping to you adds an extra $7.  That's nothing too uncommon, but maybe I had a few limited edition ones that my dog slept on.  Nothing really makes them any better than others.  I especially didn't put any extra effort in them, but the ones with dog fur are $10 more for reasons.  Some customers may want the authentic Keshi drop experience only stinky dog fur can create, but after a wash that $30 shirt is exactly like all the regular priced ones.  That's my point with Skeletor's Lair.  Whatever added value or hype this all creates for the rainbow MOTUSCLEs and all the other products they will sell is great for them, it's a value that's going to dissolve in a wash.  This strategy can only blowout the first wave and bloat out the secondary market until more is manufactured.  Then when things aren't so rare or hard to get and people can buy these online and awesome toy stores, all that added value goes away.  Then a $20 dollar set is just worth $20, and the people who jumped on it early unnecessarily lost out who knows what when Super7 never had to do it to begin with.

Again, I don't know, guys.  Please let me know.  I really want to hear from you, even if you disagree.  But if nothing else, thanks for stopping by and hearing my nonsense!

PowerCon Exclusive Slime Green Motuscle Can From Super7!

Hasn't it been a wild and crazy week with all this Ecto Mini nonsense?  Hasn't it been a great and/or terrible time, depending on your point of view?  Well, forget it!  Throw those damned things in the trash!  We're over it now!  That stuff was so 48 hours ago, and I refuse to be bothered about them any longer, not when Super7 dropped this slimy one, all over...  this sentence will never end well.

Some time ago, somewhere between the beginning of time and just this second, Super7 previously announced a pretty attractive rainbow trashcan set for their Masters of the Universe MUSCLE mini-figures.  It was certainly an attractive set.  Pretty enough for any casual collector and insidious enough for any completionist, but you know what?  Forget them too!  Are they out?  I don't know, but if they are, throw them away.  Throw them in the food disposal and grind them into dust.  Go into work the next day with your ground up toy dust and throw it in your boss' face.  Tell him you're finished taking his attitude and you don't need his money anymore, not when all you obviously need is this amazing green slime set!

Maybe they aren't as stellar as I'm making them out to be.  I suppose these guys can fall a few grades when they are revealed to have a half million dollar price tag, but really, that might be it.  This set hits all the SpiderEarth buttons.  Great scale, check.  Translucent neon color, with green being high on that color wheel, check.  Gorgeous packaging, check.  Nostalgia worthy of a high-five, smack! All that's left to investigate are the quality of the sculpts and and the hardness of the material, which has been called into question in prior releases.  People have loved these, but have made mention how soft and wiggly they are, and not really in a good way.

The one catch with these guys, at least at this moment, are that they are a PowerCon 2016 exclusive, so if you're not in the L.A. area on the 20th of May, you might want to consider hitting up your mule sources or start logging into your Ebay accounts.

Sadly, I'll be spiraling out in the middle of outer space, or somewhere equally distant from California, around that time, so sadly I'll be looking to get them some other way.  But, hey, it hasn't been announced yet, but maybe Super7 is going to run another one of their world-famous convention death trap games for their collectible goodies.  Maybe so, so I can go in and grab my share when everyone else has fallen into spike pits or eaten by bears, or whatever nonsense stupid pop-up store they invent this time.

Convention Champions Super7 Retains With More MUSCLE!

Toy Fair 2016 ended a few weeks ago, but news and updates from the convention are still surfacing.  Pixel Dan on Youtube recently posted a video discussing and showing off the planned Super7 products expanding on their MUSCLE license.  If you're a toy enthusiast or collector, I'm sure you already know of Pixel Dan, but if you haven't checked his stuff out, I implore you to search him out on Youtube.  His stuff is so on point and it's pretty wild to see what his connections and ambition gets him in the toy making world.

Anyway, about the new MUSCLES coming out!  As everyone knows, the Masters of the Universe will be seeing their colorful trash can set come around soon, but it looks like other classic 80's franchises are getting some love too.  Granted, there's not much to show from a lot of them, but things are being planned and mapped out to expand their MUSCLE keshi figures into Alien, Robotech, Street Fighter II, Ghosts N' Goblins, and Mega Man.

Holy crap this is exciting news, and you have to figure, if these guys won the San Diego Comic Con, they came right back and won it all over again at the Toy Fair.  Without exaggeration, I feel this is monumental, and not for my own wallet and personal collection.  These are five more beloved franchises, franchises with hordes of loyal fans, that are now going to be introduced to keshi mini-figures and the MUSCLE brand.  If the keshi community ever wanted to see a tide of new hobbyists, artists, and collectors enjoy their love in keshi mini-figures, this announcement might be the launching off point.

Wow!  Just wow!  Great job, Super7!

Super7 Reveal MOTUSCLE Multi-Colored Trash Can Pack!

Virtually unequivocally, the winner of last year's San Diego Comic Con, at least in the world of the tiny, the unarticulated, and the unpainted, was Super7 and their numerous releases from the He-Man/Masters of the Universe brand, with no small part from their Kinnikuman/MUSCLE-inspired keshi mini-figures named MOTUSCLE.

Granted I didn't have too many things to say about their pop-up shop and coin redemption that wasn't completely soaked with eye-rolling sarcasm and a pessimistic comparison to a torture trap from Saw, but maybe that was all part of the plan.  It got people chirping and motivated, even if it was to grab a torch and pitchfork, and in the process, generated a lot of interest in their new releases, including MOTUSCLE.  And when the dust settled, Super7 stood on their own and elevated by their pleased fans.  The MOTUSCLE releases weren't perfect, with the barometer of the material used caused a lot of fans and customers to feel the mini Masters a bit too soft than expected, but they were more than a welcomed addition to the mini party.

Now, during the 2016 edition of the New York Toy Fair, Super7 is back at it again, revealing the next step in the evolution of their keshi series.  Melding more components of equal MUSCLE and Masters of the Universe together, the gang from Eternia are scheduled to return again, but this time rolling towards your direction in a clear plastic trash can very reminiscent of classic MUSCLE packs.  The visage of Skeletor on the top of the lid is a great touch I'm sure won't be lost on many fans and collectors.

Will Super7 release this set normally for a reasonable amount of traditional human currency or will they again demand fans to race like mice through mazes and grotesque gladiatorial games of death?  As these guys come closer to release, I'm sure we will be privy to know.

SDCC 2015 Super7 MOTUSCLE Part Two!

It's that time again.  You know the time!  The time where SpiderEarth back tracks and takes back a few harsh things he previously said because, one, it was missing some information, and two, I'm an idiot.  At least we can say this isn't the first time, and really no where close the the last time either.  So, let's skip this, and take a second look at Super7's MOTUSCLE and more importantly this guy pictured over here.

While, I was pretty much on target about the Skeletoken/Pop-Up Shop weirdness, not everything will be sold that way.  It looks like you will only be doing all that crazy stuff if you only wanted the SDCC exclusive black colorway set (and a few other things outside MOTUSCLE).  Everything else, including the flesh set, will be sold at the convention at either or both Super7/Mattel booths.  This is a great relief and surprised for us chumps that neither have the means to make it to SDCC or the luck to be in the front of the lines for special tokens.

If the black colorway set didn't really have to salivating about them, the SDCC exclusive purple Skeletor mini-figure pictured here just might.  He's a super-attractive limited-edition guy, and there should be a lot more of him kicking around and for cheaper, because he's both solo and just hanging at the booths.

Contact your mules and forum friends!  Super7 is coming out strong at SDCC 2015!

SDCC 2015 Super7 MOTUSCLE!

After getting everything tacked down for writing this, it took a lot out of me not to name this post 'Eff you, Super7, you sons of...', and by the end of reading this, I hope you feel the same way.

Rewind the rage.

Conventions are the biggest events in the calendar, and many companies of toys, games, and everything else in geek culture, do all their big releases and news drops then.  I suppose this bit of news is no different, really.

Super7 has been teasing some product line using the He-Man property, and only until recently, it's been revealed to be sets of mini He-Man keshi called MOTUSCLE.

Rejoice, for a completely new set of awesome little Masters of the Universe can now find themselves in your hands.  Rejoice, for it too includes the fan-favorites like Skeletor and Lock Jaw.  Now, stop rejoicing, because I haven't even told you what you have to do to get them!

Only with actions fit for the more sadistic Saw movie will you be banking these minis.  Nope, don't you worry about your wrinkly bits of green paper.  Heck, even BitCoin isn't good enough.  No, what you need instead is a Skeletoken, and that's only at the Super7 and Mattel booths at SDCC.

But, hey, look, the token is cool and neat, but how in the flipping flip does that get me the MOTUSCLE?

Answer:  Leave SDCC, because reasons, and go to 701 8th Avenue, uh-huh,  and visit the Pop-Up Shop there!  Oh, good, that was only moderately as inconvenient as I expected!  But, wait, once you're there, you have to fight to the death against other keshi collectors in an underground Fight Club, just to earn admittance into the obstacle course, where you rummage through old rusty toilets, that are also full of needles, of course, for keys to doors that lead you one step closer to these minis or instant death with a 50/50 chance either way.  Those who survive the trials of doom get a set of black or flesh tone and bla bla bla bla bla...

Eff' you, Super7, you sons of...  what's wrong with my money?!?!
