Post-DCON Tru:Tek Drop for M.A.Y.O.R. + Others!

If I don't catch you guys tomorrow, Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you get feast on a lot of great food and drink with your family and friends, and try not to be swept up too much in the Black Friday con afterward.  It's always such a bizarre phenomenon:  enjoying some peace and quiet with your family and food, enjoying some football on TV or whatever, being thankful for what you do have, and then quickly transitioning to stomping other families into the ground for discounted flat screens.

What a wretched event Black Friday is.  If someone told me it's going away, dying, or just no longer a thing, I'd be the grumpy cat pictures with a proud 'Good, I'm glad!'.  So before I ruin my festive mood any more, may I suggest shopping online whenever possible?  And what better shopping can you do online than some really nice, high-quality, keshi mini-figures like the ones dropping today?

With Designer Con 2016 over, we are now seeing some of the survivors hitting online store fronts, and one of those refreshing today is slew of keshi kitbashes from Tru:Tek and crew.  I had covered a couple of them in the past, but I'm thankful I have a second chance to cover the ones I missed the first time.

Looking familiar to readers, surviving units of M.A.Y.O.R. (DRWG and Tru;Tek) and Kabuki Kasa Obake (Atonement and Tru:Tek) will be hitting the Softoy Hobby Store today.  With them, the pair of Karakappa mini-figures (SQDBLSTR and Tru:Tek) will be dropping also, and both sets will be ten clams each, which is an awesome deal anyone who wasn't able to go to Designer Con can be thankful for!

DRWG, AshMadeThis, and Onell Design Readying For DCON!

Someone most likely said something to the effect of 'don't jump to conclusions' in some important time in history.  It wasn't me.  I was just a couple ago whining and complaining how there is little keshi news heading towards Designer Con, and now I am here with some cool updates on releases and exclusives.

The first appears to be a new colorway for everyone's pixelated vending machine mini-figures, Bit Figs.  I haven't actually made this mention before, but it was a pleasant surprise to see the ninja set of Bit Figs arrive at my local grocery store's vending machine recently.  It's safe to say, every visit or so, I've lost a couple bucks, increasing my bit army.  Now it appears a translucent green option is in the works coming from Onell Design, heading for Designer Con.  This is very cool, as I have yet to see a translucent Bit Fig IRL, and I'm curious to how sunlight reacts to it, outside this spoiler picture above.

Our second batch of news is almost a double-header, with two pieces coming the way of production pro and giant, Tru:Tek.

The first, in green, is a collaboration with DRWG called M.A.Y.O.R., named after everyone's favorite Final Fight character, Haggar.

In the muscle-tone is the Kabuki Kasa Obake collaboration with AshMadeThis I covered briefly before, but these are both new colorways coming exclusive to the convention.

This is all pretty exciting stuff, and I hope in the coming days, just as Designer Con is drawing ever closer, we get a little bit more just to expand the overall keshi consciousness across the whole convention!

Dropped But Not Forgotten! Uncut! Onion! Violence! AshMade!

Hey, everyone!  SpiderEarth back again with another awfully titled update showcasing a lot of news pieces that I've failed to cover in any proper length.  It hasn't been a terribly busy week, per se, but all these interesting teasers or drops occurred one after the other, so a format like this felt more fitting.  So let's take a look at everything in store today!

For starters, Super Festival 72 is just a couple days away, and with that, comes a lot of news and updates from one of Japan's bigger keshi-friendly conventions.

Fantas by Onion Fights

I have two mini-figures today to showcase.  The first is from Uncut, with their Evil Dead inspired The Bad News Rad Uncle mini-figure in various colorways.  Uncut's stuff is always red-hot and if you've always enjoyed their stuff, I'm sure this is new mini is on your must-have list too.

The second is a rather intimidating clown character called Fantas from Onion Fights.  Must like Uncut, Onion Fights makes a lot of stuff American collectors, as well as everyone else in the world, just drool all over.  It is certainly not uncommon to find any post of theirs on any social media website or application with someone asking if they will ship internationally.  Frustratingly, Onion Fights keep to their Jiro Dreams of Sushi ways and almost require plane tickets to acquire.

Thankfully the next two are much easier to pick up if you're interested.

Various Characters by Violence Toy

The first is news of a new independent toy line called Violence Toy reaching costs for full-scale PVC production.  This is very exciting, in a number of ways.  Firstly, this could mean there is another big player in the keshi scene, bringing new collectors in with them, and inspiring and collaborating with keshi veterans.  Secondly, these mini-figures look really great.  I love that rude, crude, mutant thing and these guys look like what I'd expect Kinnikuman would like after a nuclear explosion.  Certainly keep this project on your radar.

Kabuki Karakasa by Ashmadethis/DRWG Co/Tru:Tek

The last but certainly not the least today is a collaborative effort between Ashmadethis, DRWG Co, and Tru:Tek called Kabuki Karakasa, and as a fan pointed out on Instagram, this is very much the missing piece in the classic Monster In My Pocket line.  This guy fits absolutely perfect with them, and if I didn't already know better, I would have assumed it was from a 1990's set to begin with.  Whether you are a casual collector or this one is making you feel your set is now incomplete, I would certainly suggest you tracking it down.

I'm telling you guys, I'm pretty trash at this.  I really enjoy reaching out and expressing some of my weirder feelings about stuff, but anything creative past that is just throwing turds at the wall.  I spent all day thinking up a decent title for this news format, and queue the failure game show sound, you get the first installment of 'Dropped But Not Forgotten'.

I'm not sure that name really describes everything very well either, but in essence, I needed a title to wrap around a few drops and releases that I missed to discuss in any proper length.  Some weeks there is nothing going on.  Some weeks there's just one or two things going on and I can cover that pretty well.  This week everything is happening, and I'm doing a pretty miserable job trying to mention it all.  So, with my dearest apologies for not covering them fully, here are a few recent keshi releases that I flew by me the first time.

Prolific bootlegger and designer HealeyMade released the flesh set of his gorgeous The Hex mini-figure cast in resin, with proportions and definitions that make you wonder Onion Who?

DRWG Co. just released the Secret Chief III "The Assassin" mini-figure following the beloved and successful Librarian.  If you like your keshi chunky and chibi, please check out this amazing artist.

Mr. Softy by After Midnight Studios

Finally, Rufus of After Midnight Studios is looking to release a new version of his Mr. Softy mini-figure at the Tenacious Toys booth during New York Comic Con.  If you enjoy your resin a little on the ruder side, like you know Keshi Drop does, do make sure you keep Rufus on your radar.

DRWG Co's Secret Chief Librarian Drop!

Hey, everyone! How's everyone doing?

You know, with all the convention stuff happening in Japan right now, it's pretty easy to let the local news pass you by.  Luckily, we weren't that unlucky, because this guy, like his card art, is on fire!

As a character in the Secret Chief series, the Liberian keshi from the fine artists of DRWG Co. looks to really be starting off the New Year right.  Personally, I really enjoy the occult aesthetic and anything creepy and mysterious with the secret society stuff has me hooked.  Some people in the keshi community will always cry foul and scream whatever from the shade of their tin foil hat, but if you're disturbed and/or offended by a little rubber mini-figure, there is just honestly nothing I can do for you.
