OMFG Glow In The Dark Series 4 Kickstarter is LIVE!

I had previously proclaimed some big news would be coming from the October Toys' camp sometime soon, but this bit of news was something I didn't predict.  I mean, of course I still stand behind the conspiracy theory I created some weeks ago, but like any good nut job, maybe it's next time.  Just gimme' a little more time!

From their video, October Toys explains how often they get the request to do Glow In The Dark variants and the latest series of OMFG mini-figures were no exception, but a weird thought came over me when I heard that.  I thought Series 4 already had a GID variant, but when I sat down with the thought for a second longer, I was pleasantly reminded that it must have slipped my mind.

So the campaign to bring this set to the land of bright green is live on Kickstarter right now, and already, as of writing this now, the campaign has some really interesting details I want to share.

Firstly, even at ground zero here, funds are looking about half complete already.  That's a really great sign out of the gate to see if this project can has enough interest to get fully funded, and where Kickstarter hasn't showed a lot of love towards mini-figures lately, this one looks to be headed in the right direction.

Secondly, this has some exclusivity that collectors should keep in mind.  Treat this campaign as your opportunity to preorder this set now, because they are only producing quantities to fulfill backers.  There won't be any hitting a web-store anytime in the future.  This is it - preorder now or miss out.

A pretty big tangent off of that is the inclusion of the OTMFG BrainWaves mini-figure.  He's shaping up to be a bonus figure to accompany the set, seemingly free of charge, but I am also assuming it's not safe to risk not grabbing this variant now.  The Glow In The Dark BrainWaves could also be limited and exclusive to this campaign, so that complete set you have right now will no longer be complete if you are a day late or a dollar short.

As of right now, there is still about twenty days to jump on and preorder this set, and for six limited edition glowing variants, I'm not sure there is a better deal out there either for twelve bucks.  Follow the link below and consider grabbing this set while you still can.

MWOTR July Release Reviews!

With San Diego Comic Con happening this weekend, it's easy to get swept up in all the excitement there, however there's still tons happenings across the world and interwebs to also look at.

Today, we are doing just that and looking at Mystical Warriors of the Ring's July releases, all of which you don't need to wait in a long line or travel to California for.  You can order everything we'll be going through, right now, from the comfort of your home, provided they haven't sold out.

July has been a giant month for Mystical Warriors of the Ring.  As well as revealing the upcoming Molie commentator figure, the prototype pictures of which can be seen on their Instagram account, they have released a massive drop of Series Two/Goliath goodness.

Massive drop?  Is that really the right term to use?  Sometimes I even make me scratch my head and wonder who allows me to do this.

The Series Two set saw their first alternative colorway release since their introductory metallic black version.  Barring no holds, MWOTR came out swinging with fan-favorite Glow In The Dark.  Glyos-compatible Goliath sees his third and fourth variants, also in Glow In The Dark and the new Tag Team Championship metallic bronze.

I was super excited to get the bronze variant, because I'm a glitter freak, and while he's a pretty gnarly figure on his own, I wish he was more cover-your-eyes blindingly shiny.  Like other figures of this variant, I think the base plastic, if that's actually even what it's called, is a clear PVC figure, then the bronze dust is added to it.  This creates a lot of Cat's Eyes effects all across the figure, so no two will look exactly the same.  I feel the green and black figures had stronger metallic variants, using colored PVC as a base, particularly the black colorway, which pops wildly for me.  Maybe it's just my eyes or a weird lighting trick, but I suggest picking up both the bronze and metallic black and comparing them yourself to get what I mean.

The shocker in the release is certainly the Glow In The Dark Goliath.  Many toy collectors of all sorts of format will state their favorite variant is indeed Glow In The Dark, but, as I've always enjoyed turning off the lights and seeing them light up, I've never gone particularly bonkers over them.  This Goliath, however, is just nuts.  Although you lose the detail you'd get from the other variants, this chunky beast is absolutely nuclear.  The pictures I took are god-awful and do no justice, because these Glow figures virtually glow green on their own, without light!  The Glow Goliath is that anime, super-charged, ready to attack with his special finishing attack, when you think you've finally taken him out.  Not cover-your-eyes blindingly shiny, but cover-your-eyes blindingly glowing!

MWOTR Glow In The Dark Series Two Leak!

A picture was leaked on MWOTR's Instagram, indicating Goliath was not the only one to see a Glow-In-The-Dark variant coming out next month.

If Leo here is any clue of what's to come, we can bet the entire Series Two set, including him, Ulric, and Yvonne will be lighting up the night sky this July.

It'll be exciting to see full details on the drop, and of course, I'll have them here when they are released.  For more information, check out the link below.

MWOTR GITD Goliath Leak!

Hinted from their Instagram, it appears the team at Mystical Warriors of the Ring plan on lighting up the night sky this July in their own way.

That's right!  Goliath, their monstrous alligator character, will be seeing his third colorway since becoming a multi-part PVC figure in their Evolution line.  He's seen metallic green, black, and now I'm sure fans will be excited to see this guy in Glow in the Dark.

I enjoy Glow in the Dark, but maybe not as much as some.  However, I am more than interested in seeing how much this bulky figure glows.  He's already a pretty amazing miniature on his own, so this extra bit might actually cause this variant to be very popular.

For more, as always, check out their website and blog down here!
