Hey, everyone!  SpiderEarth back again with another awfully titled update showcasing a lot of news pieces that I've failed to cover in any proper length.  It hasn't been a terribly busy week, per se, but all these interesting teasers or drops occurred one after the other, so a format like this felt more fitting.  So let's take a look at everything in store today!

For starters, Super Festival 72 is just a couple days away, and with that, comes a lot of news and updates from one of Japan's bigger keshi-friendly conventions.

Fantas by Onion Fights

I have two mini-figures today to showcase.  The first is from Uncut, with their Evil Dead inspired The Bad News Rad Uncle mini-figure in various colorways.  Uncut's stuff is always red-hot and if you've always enjoyed their stuff, I'm sure this is new mini is on your must-have list too.

The second is a rather intimidating clown character called Fantas from Onion Fights.  Must like Uncut, Onion Fights makes a lot of stuff American collectors, as well as everyone else in the world, just drool all over.  It is certainly not uncommon to find any post of theirs on any social media website or application with someone asking if they will ship internationally.  Frustratingly, Onion Fights keep to their Jiro Dreams of Sushi ways and almost require plane tickets to acquire.

Thankfully the next two are much easier to pick up if you're interested.

Various Characters by Violence Toy

The first is news of a new independent toy line called Violence Toy reaching costs for full-scale PVC production.  This is very exciting, in a number of ways.  Firstly, this could mean there is another big player in the keshi scene, bringing new collectors in with them, and inspiring and collaborating with keshi veterans.  Secondly, these mini-figures look really great.  I love that rude, crude, mutant thing and these guys look like what I'd expect Kinnikuman would like after a nuclear explosion.  Certainly keep this project on your radar.

Kabuki Karakasa by Ashmadethis/DRWG Co/Tru:Tek

The last but certainly not the least today is a collaborative effort between Ashmadethis, DRWG Co, and Tru:Tek called Kabuki Karakasa, and as a fan pointed out on Instagram, this is very much the missing piece in the classic Monster In My Pocket line.  This guy fits absolutely perfect with them, and if I didn't already know better, I would have assumed it was from a 1990's set to begin with.  Whether you are a casual collector or this one is making you feel your set is now incomplete, I would certainly suggest you tracking it down.

Lets Look At Some Future Onion Fights Releases!

Ultimately, I feel this really should be renamed to 'SpiderEarth really needs to learn Japanese' because I feel I have virtually nothing to add to cool finds like these.  Even still, I will try my best and add my thoughts.

Onion Fights is probably one of the coolest and hottest toy lines in the modern age of keshi minifigure collecting.  Taking inspiration from classic Kikkikuman and building it into their own universe of space wrestlers, Onion Fights have climbed in popularity in not just Japan but in America as well.  Their professionally-sculpted figures have unique portions and burst with character and appeal.  It's a shame they are so limited and it's so difficult to get State-side.  Even now, I have yet to own a single one, and I'm sure I am not the only collector with the same plight.

 Despite that, I still very much enjoy seeing their releases, and it looks like they have quite the selection coming out pretty soon.  I have yet to find the information about when and where, but I have found these images on their Twitter and Instagram accounts, showing two new Onion Fight wrestlers called Doraneko Mask and Tacos & Nachos, and possibly a collaboration or a crossover with a horror-themed manga I am unfamiliar with.

All three of these figures look amazing!  And when there are any further news about the releases of these guys, I will certainly share it with you all.  Lets hope that some if not all of them will have an international release, maybe off their website, so more can cross the sea.

Onion Fights Super Festival 68 Exclusive Keshi!

Curses to Onion Fights and a general hex to Japanese conventions I can never attend.  May you awake an angry Godzilla for making such amazing looking keshi that will never reach my hands.

That's right, everyone, Onion Fights are back at it again, launching another amazing convention exclusive, this time in the form a character called The Momo Taroh.

The Momo Taroh will be released at Super Festival 68, far away from me, in Tokyo Japan, Sunday, April 26th.  If it sounds like I am bitter, it's because I am.  Onion Fights are turning to be one of the most coveted Kinnikuman throwbacks out there, in not just rarity but quality too.  They are sold literally only in Japan, and in most cases, exclusive to particular conventions, with the Punk Drunker collaboration I zoned-out through being one of a possible few exceptions.

I'd have to imagine this is because there could only be a small team working the Onion Fights productions.  Let's not forget, this is the same country with world-class, five-star, sushi restaurants with only two seats and an old man.  If this could be something of the case, making world-wide releases might overwhelm them in product demands.

The hope of the westerners lies in California's Designer Con later this fall, and whether or not Onion Fights attends.  If they do, and let's say annually, we finally might see Onion Fights more commonly here in the States.  It would certainly save a riot or two.

Onion Fights x Punk Drunkers Drop!

Collaborations in the toy community sometimes bring the coolest products forward.  There's something about the collision of two different artistic minds coming together that brings out the very best for us collectors and supporters, and really, I think this stranger-than-hell guy is a perfect example of just that.

Slated for a February 8th release, this mash-up between keshi studio Onion Fights and fashion designers Punk Drunkers is just perfect for a collector like me.  Let's be real for a second - this guy, and in particular his facial expression, is just bonkers, but I love that.  His body has that thick, chunky, Kinnikuman-esque form we've come to expect from Onion Fights, but wow, this guy is all about that freaky face that the artists involved executed flawlessly.

If you had a curious house guest looking over your keshi collection, I would have to imagine this minifigure alone would spark curiosity and conversation.  This guy, with that almost serial killer-like stare, is so captivating and enthralling, it's hard to not stare, even as odd as he looks.  If that was the intention, then I would consider it a home run.

If you can't see it in the fine print there, he'll be on sale for 1,800 yen (about $15) from the Punk Drunkers web-store.  Readers here may know how restricted my keshi budget is most times, and usually I would say something like this would be a bit too much, but I think this guy is quite the exception.  I'd hate to say it so early in the year, because it's only February, but I am in just in love this figure and I'm not sure if I can connect to another keshi as much as this freak this year.  I just have to own one.  I just hope they ship to the States.
